  • In her practice, Amy has seen the value of bringing appellate lawyers into the case at early stages. She has been able to identify legal arguments and draft substantive motions, approaching the issues from an appellate perspective, that have impacted the results of the case in favor of her clients.
Representative Cases
  • Served as appellate counsel in a personal injury case in which the plaintiff had settled with all defendants except the entity owner, who was not involved with the specific issue being litigated. Nevertheless, the plaintiff held out against the owner, even though the court had already denied two motions for summary judgment for the owner. Appellate counsel was then brought on to make another attempt at summary judgment and, after the appellate motion was filed, plaintiff’s counsel finally agreed to negotiate a settlement.
  • Represented client in an appeal securing the affirmance of summary judgment in the client’s favor in hotly-contested litigation in both the state and federal appellate courts regarding issues of joint venture, statutory compliance, and constitutional law.
  • Served as primary appellate counsel in multiple appeals that overturned trial court rulings denying the clients’ motions to enforce their arbitration agreements.
  • Served as counsel in both the trial courts and appellate courts, successfully defending against claims for punitive damages.
  • Served as appellate counsel in the trial court and lead counsel in the appellate court in an action concerning riparian rights case, resulting in a court determination that the client was entitled to the waterfront land adjacent to the property.
  • Served as appellate counsel in the trial court and lead counsel in the appellate court that successfully upheld summary judgment for the client in a professional malpractice claim.
